When I asked the staff at the Geopark Center for a recommended lunch spot other than where the crab tour buses gather near the fishing port, they told me that they should be open even on Sundays, so I decided to go. I ordered the recommended "Mosaebi" sashimi set, but as you can see in the photo, it came with flounder simmered in soy sauce, skewered cutlets, and a side dish – a generous spread on the table! The Mosaebi, which can only be enjoyed in San'in, was a satisfying dish with a rich sweetness despite being larger than sweet shrimp! Since crab can be eaten anywhere, the conversation with the chef also flowed, and thanks to him, I was able to enjoy a happy lunchtime moment.
I stumbled upon a pretty good restaurant after wandering around for a bit. As you can see in the photos, they have a great variety of dishes. The prices were a bit high, but the quality exceeded my expectations. The sashimi, simmered dishes, and fried dishes were all delicious. They even offered free refills of rice, which was a surprise. If you don't order more rice, you'll have leftover dishes. I heard that they serve shrimp chirashi sushi when they're in season, but unfortunately, they weren't available during my visit. It looked absolutely delicious in the photos, though!
I visited around 12:00 on a weekday. The restaurant was small but there were 6 customers already there, and the owner seemed busy. However, the service was polite. I ordered the seafood bowl. Being a port town, all the ingredients were fresh and delicious, with a satisfying taste. The miso soup on the side even had two shrimp. Thank you for the wonderful meal!
