Big Al's popped up and we saw the reviews were good so we thought we would give it a try. The servers were very friendly, and very attentive. There were five of us in our group the food was above par quality and very good. All of us enjoyed our meals. We met big Al in person. Very nice and friendly guy. We live an hourand 20 minutes away and decided we will have to come visit once in awhile the food was that good. Would definitely recommend the place, and encourage everyone to support their local Mom and Pop stores.
Stopped in tonight, food quality was poor at best. Way overpriced for what you get. Maybe the worst BBQ in the Des Moines area. Ate at the South side location 3 years ago and it was very good and Big Al even came To the table. Not sure if he sold the biz or just doesn?t pay attention to the Adel store, but I think maybe this location needs more over-site. Got the 2 meat combo, burnt ends dry, 2 ribs terrible, cornbread was so dry that even 2 butters couldn?t save it. Iwon?t be back a time soon sorry.
Al is so nice! Introduced himself right away! Waitress was great and food looks to be amazing and it is Sssooo good! Melt in your mouth brisket and pork!!! FOODGASM
Always friendly service delicious BBQ at Big Al?s! We took home a BBQ combo sampler for my wife?s birthday dinner. The ribs, pulled pork, sausage, brisket, smoked ham, turkey chicken were all perfect! We took home baked beans, mac cheese and jalapeño corn with it. Everyone enjoyed!
Good bbq for a small town. Ordering by the pound was delicious! Had that with the original sauce and the mashed potatoes. It was mouth watering! Highly recommend! Was disappointed in the Big AL burger especially for 20 bucks... it tasted like Bland bologna with pulled pork that had been sitting out for a week at a frat house but the guys still eat it cause there's no mold on it yet.
