It’s been sometime since my last visit. But they are always friendly. Food wouldn’t win prizes for presentation on master chef, but it’s tasty, fresh, filling, big portions, and very cheap. Can’t go wrong.
Looking for Sunday lunch after a mid day Circus performance. We went to El Celler d’Aiguaviva, no Booking, perhaps come back in an hour. So we drove to Les Pobles. Not been here for a couple years. Welcomed back with open arms. Place was full. OK, they have outside seating as we had the dogs. Fixed price menu at €16 a head including water and coffee and choice of 4 starters, 4 mains and 4 deserts. I had cannelloni, followed by rabbit and snail stew. He had salad and chicken. All very good. Coffee here is excellent. We had three cups each. All in all €40 for as much as we could eat and drink. During the week the workers lunch is about €10. Not as sophisticated, but even better value.
Ooops. I've been writing reviews for another el Tastet a few miles away in error. Called in recently. Had a great salad, Pizza and veal entrecote with fries. Good beer and coffee too. This is a community cafebar with cheap lunch time menu for locals who come in off the fields. There are tables inside, and in summer outside, and in winter there is a big wood burner. Always pleased to see us, whether for coffee or a glass of beer or a meal. Its rustic food and lunches off the daily menu are very good value. Its not expensive in the evening.
