State & Main Kitchen & Bar - Airdrie

June 2022 Food was really good, service average with quite a long wait. It's a family friendly place.

Two friends and I went to State Main for dinner. One friend ordered fish and chips, the other had the beef dip, and I chose the noodle bowl. Both of my friends enjoyed their meals, and I thought my noodle bowl was exceptional.

We decided to go out for lunch for Mother’s Day on the Saturday. There was four adults and a 10 month old. Our waitress (server) was new , but handled us like an experienced professional. With an infant in a high hair, i t was really important to continue to clean the used dishes and items from the table. The little guy loved to reach with such surprising speed. The server was on top of this with frequent visits. If she was new to the profession, then the management trained her well! Food came surprising fast and was very good. While it has been a while since we have gone out to a restaurant with Covid, it was a treat to find one extremely clean, well staff and serving good food.

During pandemic we did take out. Food was great, well packaged and hot. We found Skip the Dishes was a nuisance getting in the way on the website while ordering on line so we phoned in and did Pick Up . Again food was great.

We hadn't been to this restaurant since last summer, and it's definitely changed. We went at noon on a Saturday and there were only 6 people in the entire place, which was a bit concerning for a business. However, the service was fantastic and we were pleasantly surprised by the delicious calamari and dumplings. Be sure to stop by and support this local business.
