I loved it about eight years ago, but then it became increasingly upscale and less family-friendly. It was no longer enjoyable. The prices kept rising while the quality of both the service and the food declined. I stopped going there around three years ago. If only they hadn’t overlooked their most loyal customers—the families on the island—they might have survived.
I wouldn't really call it a tiki bar. They have a few decorations and drinks that fit the theme, but overall, it feels more like a nice bar. The drinks were decent, the bartender was friendly, and they played some great music (not tiki-related).
I will miss certain aspects of this winery. I used to visit Rosenblum wines quite often in the past and loved their Zinfandels. I went during its last weekend of operation and it became clear why it struggled, aside from some reported issues with the building. The place felt very disorganized, and it seemed to be managed by young staff who weren’t particularly skilled in customer service. We were seated outside at a table with no umbrella and, strangely, they didn't offer glasses of water—only water for purchase. When we got up to wait in a long line for our wine, we returned to find someone sitting at our table. The DJ was good, but the term "urban winery" feels a bit contradictory to me. I suppose I’m just accustomed to the elegant Napa wineries. A significant drawback for me was their policy against dogs due to their lease restrictions related to bird nesting, even though we saw dogs everywhere at Faction, just a hundred yards away. It seems they may have lost a significant amount of business over the years by not allowing dogs, which is a real shame.
It was one of my favorite wine Tasting venues in the Bay Area! Beautiful views and delicious wines! My absolute favorite is Blanc De Blanc sparkling with aromas of Granny Smith apple, lychee, kiwi and orange blossom. Have been here numerous times and included meals from the restaurant next door Scolari's. Just 3 miles from Oakland it's a wine oasis and just want to shout them out even though they are closing doors on Feb 27th! Thank you RW Wines for all the memories big and small . To keep supporting them please go to rockwallwines.com to shop...
The wait is super long, the ordering process it's like an hours long. If you wanna get wine there's another long line. The whole process is in sense.
