Romanos macaroni grill in aliso viejo has cheated us on our bill. the menu offered certain bottles of wine at $20, so we ordered one of them. when we got ours, they accused us of $34 for the bottle of wine. when I made the mistake of the attention of the waiter, he said that the $20/bottle offer is only available when we ordered the pre-fixed meal. the menu said nothing about this restriction. So we were deceived from $14. I don't like the bait and switch tactics that Romanos macaroni used grill or the way the waiter treated the occasion. I will not return to romanos macaroni grill in aliso viejo.
The line was long, but the hostesses did everything they could to put us and were very harmonious and open in terms of how long the waiting period was. it was a great experience!
The service was terrible! The waitress was so slow that I had to go up to other kitchen staff to ask for butter because she took so long to bring it. By that time the bread was already cold. My friend never got the wine that he had asked for twice, so he had to walk across the restaurant to find a bottle which he served himself. It’s an honor wine system, so all the waitress has to do is bring a bottle of wine to the table, which the customer then serves himself. The restaurant has a very open floor plan, so there is no excuse for a waitress/waiter to ignore or just not notice the customers. Although the entrees were very good, I am hesitant to return since this is the second time in a row that the service has been so bad.
Great dinner, the server was very attentive which I appreciated, overall a good experience
