My most recent visit for breakfast was a letdown. I ordered eggs and bacon, and while the coffee was excellent, the bacon was extremely tough to eat. The hash brown patty was bland and unappetizing. My friend opted for a grilled cheese with fries, but was also left disappointed with a processed cheese slice on white bread (for an additional $5 or $6). In the end, we spent over $30 on food that neither of us enjoyed. Even the milkshake was left untouched after the first sip revealed it was overly sweet and freezer-burnt. I had high hopes for this place, but unfortunately, it did not live up to expectations in my opinion.
Dave works hard to keep his restaurant open, but still has time to make them feel special. they love the old-fashioned decor.
The atmosphere at this restaurant is incredibly unwelcoming for city customers, and the food is terrible. I ordered an omelette and it tasted like it was made with processed cheese slices. They should at least use real cheese.
The superior has been part of family history for over 50 years. almonte is on the way to/from the holiday home in the lanark highlands. we try to stop at least once to remember and enjoy a diner style meal. we have never been disappointed....you will get consistent quality eating at a decent price, paper placemats packed with local companies in friendly service. we had the grandchildren with us and they had objects from the children's menu that came with jello. There were teenagers who had a teller with pommes and a koks. it was great!
Always get great service, the food is cooked to make you want more. An old restaurant but always clean, and appealing. Have taken family member from out of town for breakfast and they have loved every bite
