I had a morning to kill in Anchorage before catching an international flight home to Sydney so was keen to find a good “American Diner” to have a lazy brunch at. Dan, the operator of Alaskan Footprint Food Tours (good guy and great tour by the way so check them out? recommend this place so that was the plan. The entrance is tucked away off a main road but that hadn’t deterred the many people who were already eating when I arrived. The efficient manager was busy greeting regulars, serving tables and seating others and whilst the place was busy, everyone seemed happy and stuff was getting done in a timely fashion. I took a seat at the counter and pretty soon was greeted and welcomed by others once they realised I was from out of town. Friendly place and great menu but I’d been recommended to try “chicken fried steak” which I did, with scrambled eggs and a side of hash brown. Loved it and really enjoyed my meal well cooked, well presented and very very tasty a great meal to set me up for a long day of travel ahead! Staff were friendly and efficient, the food arrived quite quickly despite the number of covers they were managing and it was a great place topeoll watch and soak up the atmosphere of a good local food place. Great advice from Dan which I’m happy to pass on so thanks again Dan and thanks to the staff and customers at Jackie’s place for giving me such a great experience on my last day in Anchorage.
Service was great, food was good. We had Eggs Benedict, a patty melt, and corn beef hash and eggs. Although we asked for onions to be well done on the patty melt, only a few were well cooked. But it all tasted good. If we are in the area we will go back
Janice and Team consistently provide great service w amazing food. The Restraunt is very clean and provides a friendly environment. A local favorite for breakfast, I cannot say enough about the John’s omelet or loco moco, once you visit this place you are sure to return for years to come.
I really enjoyed the breakfast here. Jackies had the best coffee since I have been here in Anchorage. The ambiance is quaint. I had the Hawaiian French toast. Being tired of reindeer sausage I chose bacon. The food was fantastic and the service top notch. Special shout out to Emily and her New York humor. In Anchorage this is a go to place.
