Truly French, great service, sublime fresh fish. You get the catch of the day, Dorade on the Sunday we visited. It is a set seafood menu, and you must book, though we only booked that morning for Sunday lunch. Soup, shellfish, main course, dessert. The establishment was full, families to octogenarians, and very few lucky tourists, almost entirely French clientele. That is 5 star too.
Tasteful and fresh fish and sea food, no fuss, honest delicious food They will always brig to the table what is in season; freshly caught in the sea or nearby lake. They make your life easier buy not offering a variety to choose from; in fact it is a set menu of fresh delicious fish and sea food. The restaurant is a bit tricky to reach as you need to take a right at the transformers building just before entering Domaine Paul Ricard. It has a relaxed atmosphere and nice views over the lake. Strongly recommend if you like fish and you go to Camargue.
First you take the D570 from Arles to Saintes-Maries-de-de-la-Mer, turn off at Albaron, deep into the Camargue, onto D37. At Mejanes (Domaine Paul Ricard) you finally turn right for a two kilometre ride on a potholed gravel road. What you await at Le Mazet du Vaccares, on the edge of the Étang de Vaccarès, makes the trip more than worthwhile. Think of a single menu, starting with a plate full of tellines (very small clams in a garlick sauce) and a tasty soupe de poissons. But of course you come to get the freshest of fish, grilled to perfection and cleaned at the table. With a bottle of white wine, an aperitive and coffee the two of you are not even set back 100 euro. Le Mazet is the set up of two fromer lighthouse keepers at Beauduc. The fish at Le Mazet arrive directly from the local fishermen the owners still know from the early days. Trouble is Le Mazet is only open for luch and dinner on Friday and Saturday, and for lunch on Sunday. And they cannot accept credit cards, as the distance from the nearest telephoneline is too far, the owners Hélène and Néné told this correspondent.

I am quite surprised by the advice left by rodriguezlagier , I allow myself to provide some details. I was on 22/07 in the evening with a family at the next table. I was able to attend the either saying bad reception of the “responsor”. Without a prior reservation and the full-time restaurant, this couple insisted that they want to eat despite everything "on a corner of the counter". In order to be pleasant to them, the person in charge put them at table. My attention was then drawn to a discussion about a too long service, which is totally false. this kind of false appreciations night to the credibility of tripadvisorl reception was perfect and the fast and impeccable service. no waiting between the dishes and the smile of the staff is a real pleasure. all the dishes were delicious and the wolf grilled .... a delight. The very simple and homemade desserts have enchanted us.Redo very quickly.
