Expedicion Cafe - Armenia

We visited Expedición Café and we had one of the best coffees in Colombia. Very recommended! Thanks Sergio!

El propietario y guía del café nos llevaron en un tour por una plantación de café que ha estado en la familia por 6 generaciones. Hablaban inglés con fluidez y pudieron responder a todas nuestras preguntas. La degustación de café estuvo excelente. En el café de los propietarios disfrutamos de deliciosos postres y café. La plantación está en un valle profundo y el sendero es un poco difícil, así que se recomienda llevar zapatos deportivos y repelente de insectos. Anteriormente contactamos al café a través de Messenger en Facebook y, aunque no hablábamos español, Sergio fue muy amable y atento. ¡Altamente recomendado!

During our stay in Armenia we found this wonderful coffeeshop, located in a quiet neighborhood. Very friendly owner and staff and carefully prepared coffee-specialities. Also the cake was very good. Highly recommended!

I am in awe after my visit to Expedicion café. I was staying very close to the café and had numerous locals recommend the café to me and I am beyond happy that I made it a point to stop in often while on my trip. The décor was simple and quaint which helped to create a comfortable and relaxed atmosphere. The owner, Sergio was extremely friendly offering suggestions to this outsider, me- of course, which helped me pick items I would truly enjoy. The pizza was delicious and the presentation showed exactly how much pride and effort is put into each meal…as if being delicious wasn’t enough. Not to mention, I had the BEST cup of coffee I have ever had in my entire life. Definitely put my Cuban coffee to shame. That alone would have made my numerous stops in to this adorable café worth it. I’m pretty sure this is a direct effect of Sergio’s generous knowledge on coffee, way more knowledge than I could wrap my head around. Bonus points was that the outdoor patio perfectly complemented the indoor atmosphere. They were both very welcoming and lent themselves to be the perfect place for engaging in conversations between myself and fellow patrons, both local and those traveling who were lucky enough to hear about this perfect little café as well. It is truly a hidden gem in Colombia’s Quindio. And in case you need further proof that you need to stop in, I’m an espresso kind of girl but I’ve been drinking it the Colombian way since I have been back!

I tried to find nice coffee in Colombia but was quite disappointed until I found Expedicion! Hard to believe it's so difficult to have nice coffee in Colombia. The owner is quite knowledgeable in coffee and makes efforts in promoting local coffee. I accidentally spilled one cup and he generously offered me another one! Another horay for him!
