The metal fan on the wall is rusted. The shadow curtains are badly weathered, cunning, durty and must replace. The outer floor is badly warned and must be painted. The shrimp basket was hard, full, perfectly fried and good. But no tartaric acid sauce. The oyster PoBoy was delicious, but it lacked the right amount of oysters to give him a good oyster taste.
The Mayport Safe Harbor is a lot on the hill. As other reviewers have noticed, weekend lunch awaits a 45 60min line waiting, and another 20 40min for your food. Incredibly slow employees who look separated. The food quality went from well to below average. In all, we waited for almost 3 hours for two baskets; Scallop Softshell Crab $22 *burnt! Very enjoyed this place. Somehow crowded when we went, but we could find seating and park on the market. The shrimp and fish were delicious. First visit today. Could visit again if in the neighborhood.
The kind of fish restaurant I like to find. Great food served fast and hot. The seafood is very fresh and come directly to the docks. Good prices, good food.
As goes the seafood market goes Safe Harbor Seafood restaurant. Fresh catch of the day. Grouper, snapper, flounder, mahi and redfish. Cooked anyway you like fried, blackened, grilled and if you ask pan fried. Shrimp, softshell crab, oysters all cooked to perfection. I will admit that on this visit I got blackened grouper, fried oysters and blackened shrimp. For the very first time my fish was over cooked and I took it up explained what was wrong my grouper was replaced with a perfectly cooked piece. As always a magnificent experience with outstanding service and cuisine. You want it fresh and done right Safe Harbor is the place to go.
