We visited to celebrate a family member's wedding. We ordered off a set menu. For starters hubby and I shared the mussels and shrimp cocktail. Both starters were great. The mussel sauce we exceptional. For mains and dessert we both had the lamb on the bone and tiramisu. The lamb was fall off the bone soft. Served with mint jelly, veggies and baby potatoes. It was one of the best lamb dishes I ate. The tiramisu was a little dry but still enjoyable, I have had better. Service was excellent throughout the evening.
It’s really a wonderful place to have a family dinner. We visited Da Vincenzo last Saturday with our two kids. The staff is extremely friendly and attentive to every thing we needed. The food is yummy, fresh and home-cooked. We ordered lamb and I was surprised how fantastic it was prepared. As a dessert we chose Tiramisu and Meringue. So I highly recommend this place if you want to spend peaceful time with your loved ones.
Da Vincenzo<br <br I suppose when looking at a good restaurant there are certain criteria that comes to mind....<br <br Venue, ambience and then the food. Service is why you pay a tip as this is beyond management control... it 's the human factor....<br <br ... this gem is the real Italian deal set up and located just in Kyalami, one really gets the feel of being in Italy here.<br <br Hard to believe this gem has been here since the turn of the century.<br <br The Name <br The name Da Vincenzo means “by” or “at” Vincenzo’s in Italian. Your food is made by Vincenzo and you share the ambience with your guests at Vincenzo’s. <br <br The Food Service <br 30 years that Vincenzo has been serving authentic Italian cuisine to Johannesburg.<br <br Vincenzo’s recipes derive from his mother Maria who brought them over with the family from Napoli. <br <br The Venue <br Vincenzo’s son Michele is on hand to arrange any function you would like to host. From small birthday tables in the restaurant, to larger weddings in one of their dedicated<br <br The History <br It started with a small pizzeria, Pizza Pazza, in the South of Johannesburg. From there it developed into a chain of restaurants in Alberton, Melville, Bruma and Gold Reef City. Eventually, after some years, Vincenzo wanted to consolidate and moved to Sunninghill. After a 5 year period he moved to Da Vincenzo’s current premises at Casa di Paglia (House of Straw) in Kyalami. <br <br What makes this eatery a winner is not just the amazing Italian food...but the venue.<br It is magical... you feel Italy. The quietness of Kyalami helps...<br Then there is just the surrounding 'country ' side.<br It really is magical...<br <br You will not feel more like you in Italy then at Da Vincenzo.<br <br
