As we were waiting outside at 12 pm for the doors to open, we were shocked to see the waitress STANDING ON A TABLE BY THE WINDOW, IN HER BARE FEET, on top of the placemats where the customers would soon be eating their food. I'm not sure what she was doing maybe cleaning the ceiling of cobwebs or something else, but there was no reason that she should be standing on the table that guests were about to eat from (we were just relieved she had removed her shoes!! . We chose to sit at a table on the other side of the restaurant. We noticed the cutlery wasn't very clean, so discreetly swapped it for other cutlery. The food was the same as always a good selection. But we noticed that many of the dishes were barely warm (particularly the prawn and pork starters in the bamboo baskets so not sure how long they had been sitting there. We were the first guests inside the restaurant as soon as it opened, but many of the food dishes were not at a safe temperature for eating. We ate different dishes, but both commented on the inadequate temperature of the food compared to normal, and hoped we wouldn't be ill from eating it. We continued our drive down to our holiday accommodaton in the Loire region, but by 6pm my husband was complaining of stomach cramps, and shortly afterwards spent a couple of hours in the bathroom with diarrhea and severe vomiting (simultaneously . Luckily I didn't succumb to the same. But we had to cancel several of our planned activities over the weekend, because my husband was so ill. So it ruined the first couple of days of our holiday. We will not be returning something has changed recently compared to how the restaurant normally is. We also noticed the usual baguette slices had been replaced by BAGUETTE ENDS which were not fresh (were hard and stale . Why is this the new norm, to only serve BAGUETTE ENDS which are not fresh? I have never seen this in any restaurant in France, to only serve stale baguette ends!! Severe food hygiene issues which need to be resolved!!!
Lots of food is the extent of positives. Some wasn't warm enough, some seafood way past expiration date. And screaming children were literally climbing the walls in play area strangely in a corner of the dining room.
Wednesday lunchtime : busy. Very clear why as food is good. Duck even delicious. Service good but could be more alert : we had problems ordering second round of drinks. They're friendly though. Empty plates removed quickly, ready to go for seconds. Temperature of food good.
Been here loads of times and always okay. This time we arrived when the doors opened at 7pm and it was obvious that the Sushi had been there since lunchtime. I didn’t heed my suspicion’s and didn’t realise that if they did this with the Sushi, then they would also do it with the shellfish oysters, langoustine, whelks etc. anyway we had our meal and whilst I was just about to leave I felt strange as did my partner. We made it home and within 10 minutes we were violently sick. Both ends Awful, but it is now 4 hours and just about conscious enough to write this review. We have no idea who or where we would complain to. I will investigate tomorrow. I will never go back. BEWARE!!
In this big room. one is not one on the other very clean as well as friendly and dynamic health people. a great plus, they are not on the back of beautiful buffets, very regular replenishment by the cooks so no worries the different dishes make and are appetizing to me the desserts and candy im t has of choice for everyone we even find of the good classic cutlery, fried for all tastes of good prepared dishes
