The Lemon Plaice - Axminster

Service was a shambles, the poor girl at the front was run off her feet. So much so that an employee who came in for food of her own ended up jumping in and serving! The prices are outrageous for what you get and the time you have to wait for your food. We waited 35 minutes. The curry sauce was in the tiniest little tub and at £1.75 you’d expect more than two tablespoons of it. The cod was super chunky and tasty but apart from that, not worth the money. A shame because they have the monopoly of the area but very underwhelming.

I had medium cod and chips from here. Unfortunately it was very poor and I could only eat part of it and then wish I hadn’t! The premises looks very grotty, as already said the food is yuk and I hate to say it but the staff are slow and dopey.

I give up. I keep saying I won't go back, but keep on trying. No more. They should be able to cook chips. They can't. Yesterday's, as so often in the past, were awful. Crunchy burnt bits, floppy burnt bits, greasy and unpleasant.

Didn’t realise you d need a bank loan for sausage and large chips, at £9.60 I thought it was a joke at first, I was looking around for hidden cameras!!
