The Glitz Cafe - Bakersfield

If you're looking for good soul food this is the place to come to. They have a great bar and all of your favorite comfort foods available. I ordered the fried fish and chose to have the snapper is the snapper. I had it with fried cabbage and a side salad. Everything came fast and the food was very fresh. I drove an hour outside of town to make sure I could try this place and it did not disappoint.

Everything we have ordered is delicious, satisfying Soul Food at its finest. Always greeted with a smile. Our waitress always checks on us to see if we need anything and if the food is to our liking. My daughter her family goes there also. I also mention Glitz to people I know people that are talking about restaurant’s to go to in general. Our waitress is Beatrice, she is the nicest person you’ll ever meet. She goes over beyond to make sure our dining experience is pleasurable.

I ordered 3 pieces of catfish which is not catfish but it tasted good for whatever kind of fish it was. I also ordered 3 chicken wings that were 5 dollars a piece...much too expensive for me but I was hungry for wings and didn't want to cook them. The wings were ok but nothing to write home and tell Mom's about. I got a chicken dinner for my Sister and she said the breast was so dry she couldn't eat it. I was tempted to call and request a re-do on the breast but why? And so I thought this would be a better way to get the attention of the cooks.
