For food I had chicken enchiladas and my sister had lamb. I really liked the ambiance. The lighting , decor , set up was all on point.
Beautiful place, it seems that the designer has done a better job than the bartenders serving you, having a bartender asking you what do you want instead of what would you like makes you feel like you are bothering them. None of the people at the bar are wearing a name tag so it's hard to recognize or disagree with anyone. This is the hot spot in Bakersfield now a days. With this said I wonder how long their business model will last with this what do you want attitude. It is 10:18 pm on may 14th 2022. I hope the food is better than the service itself.
It was pretty good, overall. Love the upgrade from what used to be the Mark. No more sewer smell! Used to have a plumbing issue Fresher food! A beautiful space, really. Restaurant and bar side open for dining. It is hot and new, difficult to make a reso actually their voice mailbox is often full and they should have someone manning this! Even in off hours days! 5pm is a perfect time to dine with no hassle parking on the street and no wait for a weekend table. The valet man was so friendly too! The staff inside ranged to being indifferent to friendly professional. We had an amazing busser and several wait staff helping us with service as the food and drinks came out. We thought this restaurant was Latin American flare but... it is fanicified, if not, overpriced Mexican food. Ordered: Salad. Good. Colorful. Needed seasoning. Had to ask for salt and pepper. And more than the tablespoon of oil dressing that one gets. Chicken suizas enchiladas. My friend was a fan of the beautiful white chicken meat but not of the sour cream lemon sauce the tortillas were swimming in. Thought it was too tangy. I tried it. It was surely, different. Good value..came with rice and beans on the side. Lamb ordered mid rare which is actually how it is supposed to come. Some pieces were way overcooked to almost well done. Also needed seasoning and a cutting board to be served on. Like what the steaks were being served on. The small, blue plate was childlike and not much room for negotiating what was on the plate. That said, the green foam was a tiny dollop. The carrots, a garnish and just a smear came on the plate as a puree. Expected a bit more for 40. Had to ask for a steak knife as the meat was a bit tough and the butter knife was insufficient. Sangria. Spicy margarita. House red wine. All enjoyed but . I gave high marks as the place was stunning, felt like Vegas. Not Bakersfield. Love the bar. I would go back for sure. Bathroom was really nice too. What a postive change this place has undergone.
We made a reservation for 6:45 on Wednesday for a party of six. The atmosphere and décor were exceptional. Our server was very friendly throughout the evening. We all tried various dishes, and everything was outstanding. The highlights were the poblano mac and cheese and the Spanish rice—yes, the rice was amazing again! Overall, the food was a perfect 10.
Great restaurant with a fantastic atmosphere and delicious food. I will definitely be returning. My only downside is that the hostesses have a bit of an LA vibe. I relocated after ten years to distance myself from that scene. I would appreciate seeing more humble staff. Nevertheless, it's an excellent spot for dinners and drinks when in Bakersfield.
