Really disappointing lunch to Hillstown Farm Shop. We were delighted to hear the cafe had re-opened as it was always good and busy but we went for lunch one day and it was dead. Service was very slow. Place felt like there had been no heating in it for days. Very limited menu and sooooooo expensive. Crazy prices for what you get. My husband ordered the honey chilli chicken and chips, only to be told that they had run out of chips?! Could they not have chopped up some potatoes, given that it is indeed a farm shop?! Or had they ran out of their frozen chips, which I expect was the case. I had the panini special which was fine, a bit dry and definitely not worth the money. Won't be back
Visited yesterday late afternoon for coffee and a scone. Friendly service but very slow considering the restaurant was practically empty, I think 2 other tables who had already been served. The coffee was lovely and the scone fresh. However it was the price that shocked me £14.50 for 2 coffees and 2 scones. I know prices have gone up but I have coffee out every weekend and this is the most expensive I've come across. Think this is extortionate. Would be reluctant to return unless the prices come down a bit.
Fry was delicious and my Nephew said it was his best milkshake ever. I loved the veggie roll so much I bought some from the farm shop. We also went round the lovely sunflower maze.
Try the Burgers, Amazing. Don't forget to buy the steaks and sausages on your way out, the best around.
