Ali's Alcove - Barnstaple

This is the best place around! Nothing can beat Ali's famous spiced chips. As the saying goes, "It's good, but it's not quite Ali's chips," and truly, nothing can compare to this remarkable culinary creation. It’s rumored that Heston Blumenthal searched for the best chips in the world, but upon tasting these, he was so overwhelmed by their magnificence that he settled for second best. There are only two occasions when it’s acceptable to cry for a man: at a funeral and if Ali's Alcove ever closes. Do your taste buds a favor and try these chips! But be warned, no amount of searching will ever uncover a delicacy that can rival Ali's famous spiced chips.

The dining experience and ambiance were fantastic! I would highly recommend this place—definitely the best spot in Barnstaple.

The Jemmy Twitcher and 'spicy' chips were absolutely fantastic! The staff was lovely as well. Highly recommended!!
