Wonderful roast carrots, potatoes and parsnips with slightly sharp red cabbage. Grast beer (Vale brewery Red Kite) and wines. We had a table by the fire with a view across the village green to the church. Service was friendly and efficient (in that order) Vegetarian options: Nut roast and harrisa aubergine roast.
Really lovely pub, super cosy and very welcoming. Independently run, the owner was charming and could not do enough. Food was delicious with a capital D! I had the Brioche Benedict, eggs perfectly poached, a very thick slice of ham and covered with most delicious rich, creamy hollandaise. My companion opted for the fish and chips which was so good. Nice chunky portion of fish with a light crispy batter. It came with a curry sauce which was heaven to dip your chips in. Really good quality ingredients and a good chefs make for happy lunching! Oh yes, super dog friendly. Very highly recommend, you won’t be disappointed. We’ll be returning soon.
