Railway Café - Bassett

Offers tasty fresh food with friendly service. The owners and staff are always helpful, they answer our questions and make my food alpha gal safe for me. We also enjoy the seating choices of inside or out. The covered patio is a plus for this chilly weather. Thank you guys for this comfortable local establishment!! A major plus for the Bassett Va community!!

I have a daughter with special needs. She has a hard time with noises and crowds in other restaurants and therefore it distracts her and she can't eat there. We have to end up taking the food home. This does NOT happen at Railway Cafe. She has had good experiences each time and has tried new things. It's her favorite place to go. Her favorites are the Caboose, the French Toast and the fries !A couple of times she has had a hard time deciding what to order and the employee working there has suggested a sandwich and she has loved it each time. Fabulous small town Cafe in Bassett Virginia. The food is always consistent and delicious. The employees are friendly, polite, and go above and beyond to help you. The atmosphere is quaint and relaxing. They have added more seating and in the summer offer live music. Not only is this a great Cafe for the locals but those visiting Philpott lake or the Martinsville Speedway must give them a try. You won't be disappointed. Best French toast around and their BBQ chicken nachos are out of this world, not to mention the best hotdogs, fries, and macaroni salad!Everyone there are really nice and someone always comes around to see if you need anything. Kayla and Mason always make sure you have everything and make you feel welcome.Parking: There's parking in front of the Cafe, in back, and a large parking area across from the cafe.

We have had the best experiences at the Railway Cafe! Our kids love it-especially our 3 year old. They make it a family friendly place (because he knows no boundaries and tries to sneak in the kitchen to hug them ?)The food is excellent and there is not a long wait time at all which is wonderful when you’re willing to drive nearly 30 minutes to get there because it’s so worth it!
