I am giving this restaurant a two-star rating because the staff was friendly and the courtyard is beautiful. We ordered the perch dish.
Let me start by saying I have dined at the Red Pump many times and outside of the manager being a little rude, the food is excellent and the atmosphere is great...especially outside in the summer. I made a dinner reservation in early July for...More
We have tried this restaurant a couple of times over the last couple of years and the last 3 times the food has been inedible. We have sent our meals back all 3 times and they still were well below par. Very expensive as well. Many other excellent places to eat in Bayfield, I would never recommend The Red Pump. Prior to our last few visits this was our favourite place to dine.
This place exceeded our expectations! We came here for lunch - which was lovely - and ended up actually checking out of the Little Inn and moving here. The suites are all very unique and charming. Owner was an interior decorator and there are interesting areas all throughout the property. The food is absolutely amazing! John, the manager, has a great selection of wines, and we loved enjoying a bottle of Rose on the back patio near the fountain overlooking the stunning gardens. The service was fantastic. We loved Elisabeth and Barbara the inn keeper. When we arrived in our room there was a fresh bouquet of Shasta daisies and our continental breakfast in the fridge. Great European style coffee right in your room. Awesome bed. Awesome claw foot tub that I had to try out. We had suite #6 with a balcony view of the hustle and bustle of the street and it was delightful. We will be back!!
