We weren't even thinking about lunch but the delicious array of sweet savoury tarts in the window convinced us that this was not to be overlooked..... and we were not disappointed. It was a perfect day we were lucky enough to get a table outside. Service with a smile, a side dish of potatoes bacon and a glass of wine in hand watching the world go by ..... thankyou Tarte Julie.
Tarte julie is a small cafe/ restaurant , well located by the galleries Lafayette and very close to the cathedral. They offer various salads, tarts, tartines and quiches which are all homemade , fresh and tasty ideal for lunch. However , this place get quite busy and the service is not always efficient , we had to wait for quite a long time before to be served .Not that cheap as well.
The service was disrespectful, they came to us treating us with arrogance because we are spanish and are young, the food was a complete mess, and finally too expensive for what we ate. I wouldn’t recommend it to anybody!!!
We visied Tarte Julie for lunch in May 2017. We both ordered the Chef's Salade. It was large, very fresh and utterly delicious. Lettuce, tomatoes, duck, duck livers, asparagus. Great lunch for a warm early summer's day. As the name suggests they make a lot of delicious-looking savoury and fruit tartes. Great food and very pleasant service. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED
While wandering around Bayonne, my friend and I spotted the delicious array of tarts in the window of Tarte Julie and decided to go back for lunch. Good decision! I had the chicken tarte and my friend had the mozzarella tarte. We also had dessert the citron tarte and the rhubarb tarte which we demolished quickly as well. Oh and they make a good coffee. Tasty food and friendly service (we all had a laugh at my bad pronunciation of citron).
