We weren't really sure if the chefs here taste the food before it goes out. It has tasted, but it was not a pale man's mouse that tastes on the tongue, and it should be expected at these very high prices. In addition, the very slim service comes, which was sometimes also unfriendly when we noticed something critical. A warm and warm atmosphere does not really arise despite the beautiful tablecloths and decoration, sometimes it even looks like in a high-quality mesa. The location is right next to the Festspielhaus and I can only agree that you should avoid the Steigenberger and go to the Wallhall Lounge is also expensive, but the service and above all the food and the atmosphere vote.
Despite very friendly service and great ambience a huge flop: the menu sounds great, the prices move in the absolutely higher category, but what comes on the table is imaginative and sweet boiled, extremely fade and sometimes even literally washed. We tried two first and two main foods, including and very expensive disasters. Tip: The restaurant Valhalla of the Herrmann family has almost the same prices for 5 minutes, but an excellent quality that is hardly overlooked, which leaves nothing to be desired as the service.
During the festival I did visit it several times and got good food and wine to all dishes. Cause of the festival the prices is maybe higher than equival restaurants standard.
At the intervals it seems as though half the people in the Festspielhaus descend upon this restaurant and expect to be waited upon and fed in a manner that matches the cost of the menu. It is very much to the credit of the young staff that they achieve this. Of course there are glitches with this number of people, but only the very picky would grumble at the quality of service or of food. Go ahead, enjoy the occasion, and make it part of your wonderful evening.
Excellent lobster tail, perfectly not overcooked, with ravioli stuffed with lobster meat and asparagus, very decent price for such a treat at the Richard Wagner's shrine: the Festspielhaus. Excellent friendly and competent service. Wish I could go there tomorrow.
