Aux 3 Epis - Beaune

Recommended by our AirBnB hostess, we fell in love with Aux 3 Epis during our stay in Beaune. We went here daily (multiple times on one day) for the fresh baked goodness on offer. We had breads for dinner, croissants for breakfast and a quiche for lunch. Our favorite item was their version of the Burgundy-specialty, gougère. This was a puff pastry, with a baked cheese flavor. Wow!

Clement and Aurelie Labeaune (gotta love that surname in Beaune) run this tidy efficient bakery/pastry shop. They offer a wide variety but it seems that the locals prefer their apple-based products--these were sold out all 3 times that we visited! Apparently they also do a fine cornbread but again we never got that chance. We liked that one could do one-stop shopping here i.e. both regular meal sandwiches plus dessert items as well. I am done. The end.
