No menus at all , would of been OK if waiting staff were friendly or helpful, cause they weren't. Managed to get food ordered from a translate thing on my phone. Didn't even want to get us drink refills, seriously didn't want us in there. Yes we didn't have a reservation and the place was really busy. So wish we hadn't went, it was meant to be a special birthday dinner ruined. But.....the food prawns and mussels were amazing.
Decided to try this restaurant as there was great reviews however we were left disappointed. Walking in the door we were asked if we had a reservation as if to say if you don’t, don’t bother, even though to there were plenty of empty tables. We were then taken up the back and seated beside the toilets which had an over powering smell of bleach, all for being clean but when trying to eat and drink it was a bit much. We weren’t made aware the menu was on the boards so after having a look we chose and I would have to disagree with the comment of it being for seafood lovers because it was disappointing. The staff then spent the rest of the night hanging about us making us feel like we were to leave, there was plenty of other tables still in eating and drinking. I can say the wine we chose was nice but that is it. My family and I have been visiting Arroyo for 22 years as we own a property there and I can say we have never been treated like that before. I’m sorry to say we were made to feel like unless you are local you are not welcome.
What a find this great seafood restaurant is, hidden away in the back streets of Arroyo de la Miel. An ever changing menu as a lot of the dishes are dependent on the catch of the day although most of the classic seafood dishes are nearly always available. First visit we played it safe but for the second visit we pushed the boat out. Started with conchas finas, really fresh and you could still smell and taste the sea. Next was a sharing plate of alemejas salteados, the sauce was divine and mopped up with the fresh bread rolls. Finally on to the piece de resistance, a lovely rodaballo (turbot) perfectly cooked and was large enough to be shared between 2. Full of flavour, sweet, firm and juicy, beautifully prepared, filleted and served at our table. Mainly local Spanish eat here which really says it all.
