It was bountiful and delicious. It was perfect for a tasty casual lunch in the country. It felt like we were in an impressionist painting. We would go back. It was a very pleasant experience. This is a real family restaurant and very friendly.
We arrived just too late for lunch so just had a cold refreshing drink. The excellent patron would not accept any payment. We will certainly call again when inthe area. The menu was very appetising
We have only just returned from eating at the table d'Aurèle again, and the place has all the potential of becoming a favourite. Situated on the road between St-Remèze and Bourg-St-Andéol, it has both a cosy interior with all the little tell-tale signs of being furnished and decorated by someone who loves doing it, and outdoor facilities consisting of a little garden with bistro tables and a shady veranda that is pleasantly cool to sit out on hot summer days. So far, we have only had salads there, but they were excellent and different each time. A generous helping of whatever happenes to be in season, always consisting of a variety of lettuce, and decorated with slices of cucumber, sweet baby tomatoes sprinkled with fresh basil, stripes of carrot and red beetroot, what have you, everything tasting as juicy and fresh as though it had only just been fetched from the garden. The tastily arranged plates usually come with a little meat like prosciutto di parma, a few cuts of Ardeche-style minced meat or something the like, but you can get a vegetarian version if you ask for it (sometimes served with some excellent mozzarella di buffala) or even a vegan version with just greens and some olives. The place also offers the typical French lunch deal (salad, mains and dessert) or you can choose from the menu. Friends of ours who went there last fall on our recommendation had venison which they said was done very tastily, and the salmon is also said to be very good. The fact that the place is run by a couple with two children makes for a friendly and familiar atmosphere, and thoughtful details like the pitcher of cool water instantly placed in from of us and the drinking bowl set at our feet for the dog we had taken along make you feel welcome and at home right away. Prices are reasonable (about 10 Euro for the big version of the salad) and the place is usually open both for lunch and dinner except on Wednesdays when it is closed all day.
