Summer Sundays are quiet, it seems, in this small college town. There were few customers, but a trendy yet relaxed atmosphere. The young waiter was friendly and knowledgeable. They had run out of lamb for the Mediterranean item I selected from theirbrunch menu, which seemed odd. Since we arrived right at opening time. But there were other selections that sparked my interest, like the goat cheese and apple warm sandwich I ordered. Excellent! And the coffee was perfect in a large cup. We'll visit again.
My wife and I were at lunch in Big Rapids and found the blue cow on Google. The online info looked good, so we tried and are so happy that we made it! The server was very helpful. Since we have never been there, we had some questions that were thoroughly answered. We asked for a few recommendations and they were right to the money. The food was fantastic. My wife had the steak salad and loved him. The steak was cooked on request, the salad was fresh and had the right amount of dressing. I had a Greek pack that was delicious. They also had a wide selection of drinks.
We went here for a lunch after a baby appt. The food was great. Had a lunch menu and all day dinner menu. Which was nice. The prices were fair for the quality of food. The risotto was def amazing. We will be going back. Would like to try the steak. The setting was nice as well. Felt comfortable. Our serve was very nice and friendly food was a bit slow coming out. With an hour before we got the main. But it was one girl serving and she did great in my opinion. 1# thing to try is one of their lemonade. Or refreshes I think they called them. Amazing
Blue Cow is one of the better restaurants in Big Rapids. Easy street parking or lots nearby. Very nice atmosphere and ambiance inside. The staff is very well seasoned and responsive. Full bar and huge wine selection. Reservations are accepted. My wife and I made a reservation to celebrate our anniversary on this particular visit. When we arrived we were greeted quickly from the always friendly staff. We were given a great window table which we really liked and appreciated. Our server was quick in taking our drink order and returned soon after to take our orders. We both ordered the ribeye steak which came with their house potato dish and vegetable. A side salad was added which was fresh, crisp and served quickly and was generous in portion size. The main course was delivered in a timely fashion. This is where the however comes in. The food is normally always of 5 star quality, but fell slightly short on this occasion. The casserole potatoes were only slightly warm and the steak was slightly overdone. A rare miss for this fine establishment. Did not find it necessary to actually complain, as the meal still was quite good. Service was impeccable throughout. If you're in the mood for a fine upscale dinner while in Big Rapids, don't hesitate to visit Blue Cow!
