Newk's Eatery - Birmingham

This was our second visit, and we found ourselves unable to eat inside again. There was a sign at the door that simply said "out." So, if you're planning to come here, don't expect to dine indoors.

I prefer this chain over the one in downtown Birmingham. I would have given it 5 stars, but during my last visit, my order wasn't completely correct.

I had the tomato soup and a Turkish sandwich, and they were both good. However, I had really hoped to try the Lobster Bisque or crab, but they stopped serving those about a month ago. The prices for those dishes were quite high. On a positive note, the service was excellent, and I was satisfied with my dinner overall.

In addition to the delivery fee, there is an additional 15% fee to ensure that the quality of the delivered food is good. The order was not delivered correctly, and when the store was called, the manager could not refund the money, but instead put the responsibility on their delivery from third parties. After 30 minutes phone call to talk to the delivery service, we were told there were Newk?s who made the refund.

Kids grilled cheese sandwich is in fact melted cheese on a half hoagie. When called to ask if this was a mistake them they informed me they don 't have a grill or stove top, and hung up on me. Food has declined in quality and no fresh toppings are now offered with salads. Disappointing to see a favorite from my youth in this state of decline.
