We love going to new places but normally we check Yelp before stepping into a restaurant while traveling. We only had a few minutes and this place was the closest so we took a chance. The deli was spacious, clean and well organized. I had a breakfast plate served buffet style and my wife had a salad. The food was good and the salad was excellent. My recommendation is to serve on larger plates made of higher grade materials vs Styrofoam. That would have made for a much more enjoyable experience. I realize this puts another layer of cost into the equation and possibly constrains efficiency during peak periods. However, the food is good and the experience would have been enhanced with an upgrade in cutlery and tableware.
For a quick lunch this place does the job pretty well. I have only had their sandwiches of which the Chicken salad is my favorite. It is pretty heavy on the mayo and a little on the sweeter side. Im not sure exactly what they make it with, but I really enjoy it. I also have had two of their cookies and they have both been very chewy and delicious rather than hard and crumbly like many places. I will say it is a little expensive in my own opinion as the food is pretty basic, but I guess your paying for convenience more than anything. The workers have all been pleasant to talk to and are happy to see the regulars that come in. Overall a good place if your in a rush and just need a quick sandwich to grab and go.
I have stop by twice this week, and both times my food was fixed just the way I wanted it, and I was in and out in less than 8 minutes. I will be going back soon
My first time I ate in this particular place was a few weeks ago. Breakfast was hot and fresh! I also loved the fact that you get a cup freshly brewed while you wait for coffee to buy only .99 with breakfast. I will definitely be back!!!
To anyone having to visit UAB Hospital or Kirkland Clinic-do yourself a favor and plan to eat here. Not only is the food far better than you would expect, the service is 5 star! The ladies behind the counter are friendly, courteous, and willing to make your meal just how you like it. Discovering Cora Lee’s breakfast potatoes is life changing, well, meal changing at least. Her smile will make you glad you came even if you don’t like potatoes. Do yourself a favor, skip the hospital cafeteria and take the elevator down to street level instead. If you can and wish to, show the team here some love by leaving a tip. These days good help is hard to find but awesome help is a real pleasure.
