During my visit, I witnessed four orders being sent back to the kitchen because they were all incorrect in some way. I ordered a toasted sandwich, but it was missing the tomatoes and was served on warm bread instead of toast. The service was slow and there was no communication from the staff. Overall, it was a disappointing experience. Hopefully, they will make some improvements in the future.
Today, I visited the restaurant with my regular group only to find out they had run out of cheese, which left no options for us vegetarians. Additionally, they had also run out of vinegar. The manager, Shaun, is usually pleasant and polite, as is the young woman who takes the orders. However, this is the third time I have come in and the chef has gotten my order wrong, putting meat in it. Normally, this wouldn't have been a problem, but since they were out of cheese, I had limited choices. The chef was loud and aggressive, and I misunderstood her when she offered me a chicken burger due to the loud music. When I explained that I didn't eat chicken, she shouted that it was a veggie chicken-style burger. Her tone and attitude were awful, and as a disabled person, I felt quite intimidated. She even muttered under her breath, “Just f ing eat it,” and followed me to my table, looming over me aggressively while mouthing off. If it wasn't for the calm and professional demeanor of the woman who takes the orders, I fear the situation could have escalated. I began to cry, but the chef showed no concern and instead bragged about how great Shaun thought she was. I felt threatened and intimidated, and as a result, I will no longer be bringing my support group to this restaurant. Your chef displays a disgusting demeanor and has anger issues. It's a shame because everyone else at the restaurant was kind, understanding, and polite. I want to thank the cashier for remaining calm, kind, and polite and for refunding my lunch order. This was a truly horrible experience that ruined my lunch. The restaurant has very poor choices for vegetarians and stock issues.
The food was delicious and arrived quickly. The staff was very polite and accommodating with our special requests.
This restaurant isn't exactly cozy or a cafe, but it offers traditional British cuisine. It was quiet and easy to get into, with a simple menu. We only had drinks, but the food looked appetizing. We would definitely return to try the food.
We've been frequenting for several months. Keep going back as we have found the service excellent. Staff friendly and efficient. Quality of the cakes is high standard. £1 breakfast rolls could do with a little more tlc but then they are just £1. The ambiance has always been very pleasant and relaxing. Love the love music on Sundays. Overall very impressed with this delightful retro cafe. What makes it cosy for me is the welcoming staff
