We had a wonderful afternoon tea the food was lovely the room and decor was beautiful however although the service was ok we were left alone for long periods of time , we had to ask for additional cups and hot water for the teas we were never asked if everything was ok and if we needed anything the only attention we had was making sure the 2 additional coffees were paid for! We had to ask for take home boxes. And for the box for the cake that was gifted to my Mum overall it was below average sorry

Great food and service. we were married here a year ago, so it was good to remember a big day of a big venue.

Beautiful afternoon tea for my birthday. the staff was very friendly and went out of the way to help when the children requested different sandwiches and cakes. they arranged without asking us that the Christmas man visited my big daughter and I was very worthy. first class service.

Dined in the bar on a Thursday evening where 2 for 1 pizzas and cocktails were being served. What a fabulous offer this is! The pizzas are fantastic and fresh and the cocktails are 'proper ' cocktails, not a pre-made syrup from a bottle! We went for a quiet wedding anniversary treat and will definitely be returning with the family. Lovely setting, friendly staff and great quality food and drink. What more could you ask for!

I had booked a table in advance on Saturday for 7.15 when we arrived there and sat the staff (which was great by the way and could not apologize enough) said that they had a party of 200 next door and all the kitchen staff were pulled on it. eating would be at least 40 minutes, regardless of what we ordered. we asked if it should probably be 40 minutes or longer, and she said that the same thing happened in the night before and she felt that it would probably be much longer. Why do they know that the personal is not there to serve the customer? this was a special night for us with the family traveling from high wycombe. I had previously made a booking at the peacock, but this was cancelled for what I considered to be something special. we returned to the peacock inn, who served us immediately and saved us at night. really embarrassed
