Bj's Brewhouse Bloomington

Did not have anything on menu. Did not plan for student move in.

Our server was great but the hostess clearly didn’t want to be there. The first person you meet should try to be friendly and respond when we said goodnight.

We enjoyed a Friday night dinner with our neighbors. The two women both had the chipotle cherry salmon, which was fabulous. One of the men had chicken breast in a sauce with asparagus, the other a loaded burger with fries. The wine and beer selection was fine. Our server was very helpful and professional. Topped off the meal with a chocolate cookie/ice cream creation with way too many calories. It was helpful that the menu had Enlightened entrees that means lighter calorie count. Our only disappointment was that one of the group wanted a turkey burger, and that 's not on the menu any more. Bring it back!

I ordered a grilled bbq chicken salad. The salad itself was very watery with very little bbq sauce. But far worse was the fact that there was no chicken. I pointed it out and the server said it was on the way. Two more times the server said the chicken was coming. It finally came at the same time as our check and turned out to be what looked like thawed frozen strips. Not grilled. Not fresh. The server was apologetic and comped the salad. But it was really, really disappointing. We were in Bloomington to celebrate our son’s college graduation. I ordered the exact same salad the weekend earlier in Ft Wayne and it was delicious. I’m not sure what happened this time, but it was one of the worst meals I’ve been served in a long time.

I have been to BJ's many times throughout the country. This was a visit to the college town of Bloomington, IN with the family. Unfortunately, this was a disappointment. The ambience and atmosphere was great as usual, however the service nad food were below what i have come to expect from BJ's. The service was slow and inattentive with the exception of refilling waterglasses. Our cocktails never came out until we reminded the server. The nacho platter was good but cold as it was probably sitting for a while before being brought to the table. There were also several mistakes with the order wrong side orders, etc.. Again, the deep dish pizza was undercooked and room temperature. Maybe they just had an off day, but this has never happened before at this restaurant chain.
