The only thing that really bothers me is when I go to the bar they never have the liquor I drink and that's what bothers me

I appreciate everyone posting their experiences. I was in a quest for some good barbecue and a feller I know that lives there aggressively urged me to try this place. After reading everyone’s experiences, I will definitely try another barbecue restaurant.

I’ve been coming to gates for almost 40 years. It has went downhill in the last few years. No one pays attention, the order taker, the cook, the cashier…. No one. Ordered a beef on bun on bread, repeated it three times over the course of my wait, and it came out on a bun. I also ordered a double decker ham hold the sauce. It had three slices of ham between each section of bread, and sauce on it: The people ahead of me ordered extra crispy fries, so I get home to driftwood French fries too. Just no attention to any detail. Ollie Gates would fire everyone in that place on the spot were he still in the day to day operations.

My girlfriend left her wallet on the counter we drove back 2 minutes later and they wouldn't let us back in and they stole from her.

I was surprised bbq was good....didn't like the sauces, service was good tho....
