When we arrived, we stated that we had made a reservation through Open Table and the hostess at the desk informed us that the restaurant was no longer connected to Open Table and did not appreciate their reservation service. She explained that the restaurant has its own website for reservations. Because there were many people coming from or to the Morrison Center this evening, I was worried that our reservation would not be honored, but after a courteous conversation about the confirmation I had received from both the restaurant and the open table, she sat us and we enjoyed a wonderful dinner in a beautiful environment.
I had a 4:30 reservation on a Saturday it was very quiet. The service was excellent. we had cozy romantic dinners and had a lot of time to make a movie-afterword.
The service was impeccable. Our starter croquettes were unique and very, very tasty. Our Caesar salads were fantastic whole hearts of romaine leaves; fresh, shaved Parmesan; whole schovy fillet; delicious, creamy dressing. The wine recommended by our server was a Californian Pinot Noir exceptional and one of the least expensive on the small but well selected wine list. The pages that accompanied our networks were really good, especially the broccoli. However, the proteins should have been better. I had the Pheasant in a cream sauce with wild mushrooms. My companion had a steak au pot. Both were okay, but only okay. The sauces lacked zing and zing was necessary to make this a truly extraordinary meal.
We left the children behind and enjoyed a quiet dinner for 2. It was a quiet location that reminded me of an elegant lodge. The service was excellent and the food was great. I had the tortellini and the cheese sauce was tasteful. The chicken was cooked until it was soft and tasteful. The Cobbler was a great top for the experience.
The service was terrible this time around. It took the server 35 minutes to run our check and bring it back to us. She seemed to have way more tables than she could handle.
