Expensive, small portions, slow service, bland sushi, and it didn’t sit well in my stomach either. The sushi game in Boise is surprisingly good, especially restaurants on the same block, these guys need to step up. Possibly will give them another chance in the future to change my mind because it was a beautiful day and it is in a really nice location.
We waited an hour and was told it was gonna be another half hour for our order. When looking for the restroom the staff was just standing around. Will never recommend.
Every ingredient in the sushi from the fish down to the nori tasted cheap. We got the “date night” or what ever. The nigiri was eh like something you’d get from Fred Meyer and both the rolls were just bland and cheap tasting. The miso was barely warm and not very flavorful. The waiter came up and said “how was your food? Must have not been too bad since you finished it.” before we could even say anything. It felt like maybe he knew we were unhappy because why would you say that? The only reason we went here is because Yoi Tomo was closed next door. HUGE bummer.
The Miso soup, gyoza and caterpillar roll were all delicious. Fresh ingredients, well prepared and flavorful. Excellent service as well. Will be back often.
Something isn 't right. How is this place open? Miso came cold, ramen was overdone, and literally pasta noodles. spicy tuna said it came with Sriracha, I didn 't see or taste any. The place was dead, only one other table and some people at the bar, yet it took about an hour for our food to come. It wasn 't a big order. Just two rolls, half size, they don 't make that clear on the menu, miso, one ramen, and some bread. It took even longer for the bread to come out. The taste is of poor quality. I think the tuna is frozen because it had a strange aftertaste. Not a sushi expert, but my stomach hurts, so I wouldn 't trust it. Somehow, our bread was burnt. When the waiter asked us if everything was alright, I said so so, he asked if he could do anything to make it up to us, and I asked for more bread. It took another half an hour for more burnt bread to arrive. Overall, we spent a bit more than 2 hours there. The wait staff was friendly enough, albeit they didn 't know much about the menu. They had to ask the kitchen if seaweed was in the m8so sou or not. The manager came to ask what was wrong after, he was very friendly, and we voiced our issues. And even after all that, they still had the audacity to charge us for bread refill. Not the first bread, the second burnt bread our waiter brought to make us feel better. They charged us for that. Nice people, but they may be clueless if this is the quality of food.
