This place was a Family Restaurant and recently opened as Tasty Biscuit. Open and bright with cute decor. People were friendly and offered suggestions since the menu is full of delicious decisions. I observed the plates around me and many were presented nicely also. All tables are spread out and not on top of others which is nice. Portions are great, the biscuits are huge and melt in your mouth. Pancakes are fluffy not dense and the syrup came out warm and was tasty. I had the Fried green tomato Benedict and thought the guacamole sounded weird but it all went together perfectly! The potatoes had a nice crisp to them and were not too mushy like most places. At my table we also the Fall crepes as a special and a spinach mushroom skillet. The only con I have which is no biggie) is they will not butter the bread so be sure if you like your toast buttered do it immediately upon receiving your food so the butter melts in. Let's talk coffee I enjoy a regular hot cup of old fashioned coffee nothing fancy but they had so many options and flavors I tried the apple Carmel iced latte which was good however I could've done without all the whipped cream my preference). The regular coffee tasted fresh and not like it was sitting on the warmer. If you're in the area and if you're not make your way here and check it out. It's right off of I55 so easy to access if you are coming just for breakfast Oh they now have punch cards so I will be back to try the signature Bonuts!
Had breakfast burrito. It was not good at all. Didn't even LOOK appetizing. Will not be going back!
Country kitchen charm with good service and good food. Came in at 9:30 on a Sunday morning expecting long lines. Pleasantly surprised by getting seated right away (though it was filling up when we left). Quaint decor with pine shiplap-like walls, matching table tops and white farmhouse style chairs. We were promptly greeted by our server Lisa and we had coffee almost immediately. The menu is vast and varied. Took me 10 minutes to decide on a page to land on. Ended up with the nasty skillet, which is a basic skillet with a biscuit, eggs your way, and country gravy. Oh, and a side of pancakes or toast. I chose pancakes to split with my wife, who ordered the plain biscuits and gravy. Food came out in a timely manner. Portion size is considerable without being obnoxious. Probably could have split the skillet. Let's talk biscuits. There are two camps when it comes to biscuits I have found. Layered and flakey or dense and doughy. Neither are wrong. These are on the dense and doughy side. Cooked through for sure and they hold their shape without crumbling away. Even at the end of my gravy and over easy eggs the biscuit held up. Gravy was smooth, not too salty and let the other flavors of the skillet come to life. Cakes were good and hearty. Service is swift and friendly and with such a large menu I know we'll be back.
The food was okay, but honestly the service was terrible. It was clear that they were very busy and everyone was stressed, but ever single server, host, etc. that we encountered was unnecessarily rude.
