Pepper?s is one of the local restaurants I visited over the years when I went through Boone. My favorite thing to Pepper?s has always been her salad bar. They always had a nice selection of choices and was a good way to start the meal. When I came in tonight, I noticed the salad bar was gone. I asked about it, and my waiter said they had got rid of it and that they now offer different salad choices with your meal. I ordered the meat bag with roasted vegetables and a garden salad for my dinner. After a few minutes, my waiter came back and informed me that they had no meat leaf and asked if I wanted to order something else. I ordered to darken the chicken pasta. I also asked about a coke as I was on my way and was tired and needed a little to pick me up. I was informed that their coke machine was downstairs and they could serve soft drinks at that time. My salad had a lot of beet root leaves in it. I'm not a fan of beet root leaves and would? ve never got that from the old salad bar. I didn't think the pasta was good. I wouldn't order it again. My wife ordered the French diver and said the sandwich was okay. Another change to the Pepper menu is that they offer thick fluffy steak frits with their sandwiches. These pommes were thin and very hard. My wife didn't like her. I had good experiences with Pepper?s over the years, but don't think I'll come back in the face of the changes they made in their menu.
The Spinach artichoke dip, onion soup, shrimp and geese and amazing cocktails are delicious. The children enjoyed the food and also the adults.
Over the past six years, Pepper is one of my favorite restaurants. Unfortunately this week when I ordered a club and there was a short black hair in Turkish meat. I will also say it was my first time to remove order and the quality of food was very bad compared to food. I drove home and started eating when I saw it. Very disappointed.
Visit the Blowing Rock and Boone NC areas and googled restaurants, it was a Monday and a good number of places were closed. Read reviews and check the online menu and decided to give this place an attempt. Started with a chocolate mogul a wonderful drink from the bar on a cold evening) The menu has a variety of options. I have a spinach salad with black salmon. It was great?. and huge?. enough for dinner and lunch the next day, lol. My husband loved his meat leaf and we both enjoyed the Spinat Artichoke-Dip-Assizer. The waiters were friendly and the atmosphere was pleasant. We recommend Peppers, it was actually the best restaurant we ate during our visit to the area.
The food and service were excellent. When we first arrived (1:00 on a Sunday) we were told it would be a 25 minute wait but it was closer to 5 minutes. Our waitress Avery was attentive when needed and didn't rush us at all. We had the French Dip and the Pepper's Sub. Both came out warm and we're flavorful. I used to come here as a kid with my parents on our annual trip to get a Christmas tree. It is nice to see it is still the same, although the prices have increased a little bit.
