(Seriously, it's hot as heck and I really want to buy a bottle of this stuff) Also, thanks for bringing Hokey Pokey ice cream stateside!! Sweet as. ??????????????????
Normally it is fun to discover a new and unique restaurant. And while this one boasted gourmet handheld pies, there was something missing. I chose the steak and ale pie. The crust was delightfully crisp and well-browned, but the filling contained large chunks of steak, a few peas, and a rather bland sauce. Overall, the pie was ok but flat on seasonings. At the least, it could have used more than a little salt and pepper, but there was none on the tables or anywhere else.My wife chose the beef ragu pie, which she also found lacking in seasonings. The beverage options were somewhat limited as the establishment is waiting on additional licensing. The pies, which should be their calling card, lackedfinesse and flavor.
I was tempted to try the classic chicken pie, but went with the Cauliflower Tikka Pie which was DELICIOUS and unique and I would highly recommend. Sweet and warm on the inside, buttery crispy on the outside. Thanks, Tip Top!
While visiting in the area, we came across Tip Top Savory Pies. Not only was the staff very personable, the pie was delicious!
The absolute best! You have to try them! Great comfort food meal. Lovely outdoor patio for a night out! So happy to have New Zealand meat pies in CO! I've missed them so much!
