Was the best now must rank as the worst let’s start the order was cocked From the start yet it was only two bits of fish ordered the skinless cod was not only skinless but fishless and how possible I don’t know undercooked and as so small it could have hidden under 4-5 chips The rock salmon was the other extreme so overdone the batter was rock hard and tasteless . The girl serving left a lady waiting to take a mobile phone call and whilst serving my chips started a discussion with a lady who take it the boss. What a shame my advice don’t waste you money try the fish and chip pie near toftwood club

No plaice or other customers in a chippy on a Friday night should have rung alarm bells. Instead we foolishly ordered three cod and one haddock with chips. When we got it home It was dreadful, the worst fish and chips I have ever had. We could not determine which was the haddock unless it was the completely dried out piece. All the fish was old and dry. I can only assume the business has changed hands as we have used this place several times in the past, and the quality was reasonable, though they made mistakes with our telephone orders on more than one occasion even then. I will never use this place again, and would advise anyone else to avoid it like the plague.

Disappointed no genuine battered crispy fish just fish from the freezer already battered and re cooked.Nice clean surroundings and good fast service

4 times now I have travelled to dereham to get fish and chips at Mariners, each time before leaving home I have checked their web site and face book page to make sure they are open, each time on arrival they were closed, as I write they claim to be open but they are closed. What sort of business is to lazy to update customers with current closing and opening times. I won't be wasting petrol again I will take my custom elsewhere.

Tucked away, this family cafe is often overlooked. The cod is great and the chips are fried in dripping, so very tasty ! It's too good to miss. I order by phone and pick up to order.
