I tried contacting directly before posting this but I could not find a valid email address. Today I was at the Bridgeview restaurant and went through the drive through. I ordered 2 tamale with chili, a pint of chili vanilla malt. I?ve been orderingfrom Lindys/ Gerties for years. My son worked at the one at 54th Pulaski. My concern is your chili. It was a chili soup! Idon?t think you have chili soup so my order wasn?t in error. There was no substance to the chili, much more liquid than anyother ingredients. I have recently gone to the one on 76 Pulaski. Their chili is actually a chili not a chili soup. I guessthey will be getting my future business. Why change something that had worked for years and years and years.
I was planning on going to Andy's tonight for ice cream, but my son asked me to stop at Tony's first when I was leaving the parking lot, I noticed there was a Lindys Gerties in the same strip mall, so I stopped there instead. I ordered a turtlesundae without nuts. When I ordered it the girl in the drive up asked if my no nuts request was due to allergy or preference, Itold her preference she told me to drive thru to the window. I paid and drove home with my order. I should have beensuspicious when I took the sundae out of the bag it was in a plastic container that I had to rip open one edge of the plasticto get the top off! This was obviously not freshly scooped ice cream with warmed caramel and fudge, this was something that wasobviously pre-packaged! I still was going to try it, even though I was thinking to myself that I could have just gotten the icecream toppings at Tony's much cheaper than the 10 bucks this sundae cost me! yes! Ten bucks for one turtle sundae!! Itasted the smashed down whipped cream first, absolutely no taste to it what so ever, so I scraped it off! The ice cream andcaramel and frozen fudge were all frozen like a brick, usually when you get ice cream with hot fudge and caramel on it, the hotfudge is melting the ice cream by the time you get it home, not this! Everything was solidly frozen still, why? Because itwas quite apparent that this whole container, ice cream, fudge, caramel and whipped cream was all sitting pre-packaged in afreezer!! I took a spoonful of ice cream, it appeared to have solidified caramel on it, I tasted it, the caramel had a grittywaxy consistency to it, I literally had waxy grit on my lips, teeth and tongue! I have been around the block long enough toknow that this is what happens to sugary syrups once they break down from age, or been frozen for a long time! Totallydisgusting, do not recommended!! This is what happens to establishments that have been around a long time and have stoppe
Your ice cream is soooo good I love it, but I really miss your guy?s banana nuggets that you put In the ice cream sundaes. I wish you still had those, those were sooo goood as well.
The vanilla ice cream was okay, I ordered a brownie sundae to go. the sundae didn?t come with any nuts like stated on the menu. I also ordered a double hot fudge sundae and it had no hot fudge. Very expensive.
