The gravy was perfect, but the burger was burnt. My entree came with potatoes but I ordered fries. Worst of all though, ever get a draft beer that you just knew came through dirty pipes? Tastes flat but tons of bubbles? Yeah not good with a Stella. Waitresses were great, very present and helpful. They make them bus the tables though so you know what's up there. THE NACHOS HOWEVER WERE THE BEST I EVER HAD, Man what a shock, unreal good.
We used to frequent this restaurant for their fish and chips, which were some of the best in the area. However, during our visit on February 1st, 2023, we were disappointed. The service was slow with only one waitress working, and we had to seat ourselves. The fish did not meet our expectations as it was sourced from a different supplier and was smaller and not as flavorful as before. The fries were still good, fresh and well-seasoned, but were oily on the bottom due to the fish not being properly drained before serving. Despite our complaint, the waitress acknowledged the issue but did not offer a refund or discount. We may consider giving the restaurant another chance in the future, but for now, there are better options for fish and chips. However, if you're just looking for drinks and casual pub food, this restaurant still serves as a decent choice.
The restaurant offers a fantastic variety of dishes and outstanding customer service. I highly suggest trying the pan fried fish and mashed potatoes.
On a Friday evening, my wife and I decided to have a night out without the kids. However, my wife is severely allergic to gluten, causing both GI and neurological issues. We were excited to find a local restaurant that offered gluten-reduced options, although they do not claim to be completely gluten-free. Our server was knowledgeable about the menu and helped us choose safe options. Despite some contradictions on the menu, my wife ordered the pulled pork with a gluten-free bun and salad. Unfortunately, she experienced symptoms of gluten exposure later that night, including stomach discomfort, weakness, headache, and tingling in her limbs. While we appreciate the restaurant's efforts to accommodate gluten sensitivities, the results suggest that the meal may not have been truly gluten-reduced. We are not angry, but cautious about returning in the future.
I really enjoyed the steak. Nice little spot to stop in for a quick bite to eat The coleslaw was just the right about of tartness to it. The staff was friendly and polite with quick service.
