I travelled from London to Brighton for the day and stopped at this restaurant for some fantastic fish and chips. This place is definitely one of the best spots in Brighton for this classic dish. Don't let the looks fool you - the traditional design is charming. The quality of the fish and chips here is outstanding. The cod was cooked perfectly and a generous portion of chips was served with it. The chips were large, well-cooked, and not too oily. The prices are reasonable, with £11.95 for a big cod and chips. Trust me, the cheaper places on Brighton Pier don't compare to this place. The staff is friendly and provided great customer service. They quickly cleaned our table, despite being busy. It's great to see that the same owner who opened the restaurant 50 years ago still interacts with customers today.
I went to this restaurant with my partner and we ordered the fish and chips along with homemade chips and a delicious herb purée mayo dip. Each dish was £10 and definitely worth it. The pub is a great spot for enjoying a few beers as well.
