Is always busy during office hours, so don't expect a quick service but i can tell the staff are doing their best. so just gotta be a lil more patient or just go somewhere else if u need a quick coffee.

Chocolate Soldier Espresso Bar - Brisbane CBD. Unbeknownst to this place, I was only aware of the one "Chocolate Soldier" place in the CBD - the one near the library. From hearing being told by a friend, he led me to this other place near the law courts. It is possibly a greater find, much like the more known place (from an outside observer's perspective) it has a quiet atmosphere to it that attracts the professionals. The sweets here are great as is the drinks. Service is really friendly and if you are a regular here, they probably are even more friendly. That appears to be a trend nowadays at most coffee places. It must be a wonderful oasis for the workers in the building, an ideal and perfect place for a coffee break. I would love to talk about it more, but I got the order on the run. Before heading back home, I had a banoffee pie and an iced coffee (to calm down a *really* spicy lunch). I will say this much - THIS is what a banoffee pie should be. It was sweet and filling; the filling was very thick and many times that of the crust as well as using what tasted like actual banana. The iced coffee was also really good and simple, a bit of milk and lots of ice. To truly tell how well they do coffee I must try one of their cappuccinos hereafter. In short, this is quite a good place that I can foretell more people knowing about and going to, if the coffee buisness in the city is not yet at saturation point.

Hidden away on the ground floor almost across the road from the other Chocolate Soldier, this cafe boasts a huge open area in George Street. My flat white was made on Vittoria blend coffee was rich full bodied. Only problem I had was the dirty table from which I had to drink it. No attempt to wipe it down when placing down my cup!

Great coffee shop and great staff in a great location. It’s sunny in winter and great for a mid morning break.
