Orion - Brisbane

Just had dinner at Orion Hotel and had fantastic service with Kate our waitress. Lovely girl who could not of done more for us. Beautiful meal and didn't wait any longer than expected. Definitely recommend it.

We had a great dinner and enjoyed some drinks at this restaurant! The staff were excellent and the atmosphere was fantastic. There was a live band playing, which was really good, but the volume was a bit too loud for dining and chatting. We realized it was our fault for not having a reservation and not being seated inside the restaurant. Next time, we will make sure to reserve a table inside for dinner and then move to the bar area to enjoy the music with some drinks. Overall, it was a lovely experience!

I am writing this review on behalf of two other guests. They mentioned that the food was good, particularly enjoying the nice steak. The charred corn side dish was excellent and the veggie side was also tasty. The kids meal, which came with a drink and soft serve, was a good deal with nice vegetarian options for kids. However, my meal was not as great. The calamari was a bit too floury/powdery, the chips were not very crispy, but I was told this is typical for a beer-style batter. The sauce was overly sweet, which was a bit odd, but not enough to complain about. In hindsight, some basic tartare sauce would have been better. The restaurant gets an extra star for having a clean and enclosed playground, friendly staff, and great security who check for COVID ticks with a nice sense of humor.

We came back again today and spent a few hours enjoying more live music. My son loved the BBQ meatlovers pizza, which I tried and found to be good. My daughter enjoyed the chicken nuggets and fries. My wife and I ordered buffalo wings with blue cheese sauce and calamari. The wings were amazing, and the blue cheese sauce had a strong and delicious flavor. The calamari was tender and had a tasty batter. We highly recommend both dishes.

Considering the mixed reviews, I really enjoyed it. I'm fussy with my steak my ribeye was cooked perfectly. Nice, juicy tender. Everyone enjoyed their meals, even some of our fussy kids! Thank you!
