The pub has improved significantly in recent years, thanks to the current landlords who have made a positive difference. There are plenty of polite and well-trained staff who actively check in on patrons to see if they need more drinks. The garden is nice, with a mix of open and covered spaces. Unfortunately, they have not been serving food for a while, and the Friday evening sausages and roasties only appear occasionally. They usually show terrestrial rugby internationals, but do not have Sky/BT. Overall, it is a friendly, clean pub with a nice atmosphere and good service.
I haven't visited this restaurant in at least four years, and I must say the improvements are remarkable. The old, scruffy furniture has been replaced with high tables and comfortable stools in the main bar/lounge area. The overall cleanliness has significantly improved, and it's evident that there is a new licensee. Although it was quite quiet for a Friday night, it was likely due to the no standing policy at the bar. The beer was well maintained and enjoyable.
Amazing experience all around!!! The atmosphere was delightful. We had a great conversation with Ben, our waiter, who was efficient and attentive. Overall, the staff was really lovely.
Me and the boys regularly come here. It’s one of many pubs a mid way point between our houses. However on a Friday they bring out free sausages and roast potatoes which just makes POW the first choice. Great staff. Great ambience. Would recommend if looking for a great local with lots of regular faces.
Been a few times with my wife and son. Nice garden, that’s it. Clearly mainly for locals and they clearly do not approve of visitors. Service unfriendly and uncaring. Extortionate prices. 1 pint and 2 half pints 11.40. Same drinks in a friendly Pub not far away 7.40. Enjoy your rich locals.
