If I can describe this place and the quality of food…HORRENDOUS and a NIGHTMARE. When it comes to Ethiopian cuisine I know the authenticity of it. Due to trying many different restaurants. Firstly, the injera bread was cold, very thin and stale resembling like crepes. Yikes! The meat dishes was mainly dried up stew- barley no meat. Upon receiving my order I asked politely our server/manger “HIBIST LEGESSE” about my concern. She was extremely passive aggressive and dismissive about it, and was … – show
Super friendly staff. We enjoyed sitting outside but the inside looked nice as well. We shared the Doro Wett with lentils and greens. The chicken was tender and the sauce was delicious. Wish there had been more. A lot of it was soaked up by the injera it was served on. I would ask for it to be served separately next time. Overall I would definitely go back and try other dishes.
We had an enjoyable meal at bati Ethiopian kitchen. We really loved the spicy crispy injera bread, the stewed chicken, the beef stew, the lamb stew and all of the vegan dishes. I love how dramatic the combination platter looks! I enjoyed the Ethiopian beer I had, It was very light and refreshing. I'm not sure I consider getting one chicken drumstick in a chicken dish a good value. Seemed a bit short. Also the sauteed beef dish was tough. We left fat and happy.
When I poured soup on my pancake, my mom said I was wasting food, but when this place does it, I give them all my money. Dreams do come true.
