Mr. Paul Lee and his team received our group with open arms. Grateful! Yes, we are grateful! We had such a wonderful time visiting his store. Red Hook has a hidden secret in the backyard of this fantastic supermarket. The views, the trolley and the seating area by the water breeze... I had a yummy salad from the salad bar and was offered to try the beer they have by the salad station... AMAZING!!!!
Updated review 6/2022: This is a FANTASTIC supermarket. Seriously, one of the best I’ve been to. Each department is top of the line and the selection is incredible. Cheese, deli, butcher, coffee/tea are the highlights. The cafe is also exceptional. In addition to the choices inside, Food Bazaar has added an outdoor barbecue stand for summer weekends (Fri-Sun) with an extensive menu. The food is all delicious and homemade. I have a few complaints, especially as compared to other Food Bazaars. First, the produce is not quite as good. It’s better than it used to be but could be fresher. I’m not a fan of the prepackaged seafood, although it’s not too bad because it is all packed on-site fresh. But the biggest problem is the checkout line. This is the only Food Bazaar I’ve ever seen with a single line instead of having people line up normally at the registers. It completely jams up the aisle that people line up in. That needs to be removed and I’ve never seen it in any other Food Bazaar. It makes shopping in that aisle impossible, and lining up impossible too (you have to go all the way to the end of the single line, then turn around and get in line). It flows very poorly. One other area of improvement: staff. For the most part, the staff is excellent, but you can tell some of the older staff left over from Fairway is not up to the same standards as Food Bazaar’s own staff. The staff at the Elizabeth Food Bazaar is amazing, and that store’s management team could perhaps teach this store’s staff a thing or two. But complaints aside, it’s an incredible supermarket and a wonderful asset for Red Hook and this part of Brooklyn. Worth a stop if you’re in the area for any reason!
Fire Market is an excellent place to find great deals on fresh, tasty food. It's a unique combination of a trendy gas station and grocery store. We purchased a variety of fruits, snacks, and groceries for only $80. We will definitely be returning regularly to shop for fresh produce and food. The lobster rolls are delicious, and the sushi is surprisingly good for a convenience store.
The restaurant offers a wide selection of dishes, and is conveniently located. They had all the items I was looking for and even some that were new to me. Additionally, they prepare fresh cheese on-site.
