McCafe - Bucharest

The food was good and the service too. Some of our friends refer to this as the American message.

Nice place to spend some time in Piata Romana. Outside or within the seating area, coffee is served very well in a special cafe area, or you can also use the traditional Mc Donalds service on a separate area, although at the same place. Free Wi-Fi...available, toilet facilities and next to the Mc Donalds counter there is an area with Ipads for use.

We know the press about McDonad's, but McCafe in Bucharest is decidedly different and a great place to stop for a cappuccino every season.

If you are a visitor in Bucharest, it can be tireless to find a decent place, eat or drink and not blow the budget. Hotels are susceptible to controlling you to the tourist traps (or perhaps they assume that this is what you want). Ordinary...Bucurestis, to fair to them, are quite patient with tourists (also Transilvanians), but they often do not know what to recommend, and their directions cannot make sense for you if you do not know the geography of this great and confusing city. Then there's always McDonalds. There is often McCafe. We had become familiar with the McCafe concept in Montreal, and so we found ourselves in Magheru Street, near Piata Romana in the center of Bucharest, and wait an hour before an appointment, it was easy to sit on a coffee. McCafes are all quite the same, but let's say that the coffee is good, the prices are affordable, the interior is non-smoking, and if the weather is good, the outer terasa is a pleasant place for people to observe and the time pass, and the tables are sufficiently distributed that you are unlikely to be disturbed by the smokers.
