Good opportunity to enjoy a weekend where the porteño center is quiet or in the week and eat at noon at the counter, being able to eat portion more of a soda. You can also order to carry, both empanadas and pizzas. They are also waterproof to try the coils or mid-lights next to the coffee at breakfast.
I like empanadas and made a point to try them in BsAs. I have tried many of them in different places, but still try to find a good one. It wasn't for my loved ones. One was very salty (meat) and the other... one without taste (veggie one). I must say that locals seemed to enjoy the food very much. Probably the meat was a kind of chorizo that is my only explanation.
Wandered into this place for lunch and happy we did. The ham and cheese pizza with a glass of red wine was a perfect restorative after a long flight and the price can't be beat.
When I studied abroad in Buenos Aires, this was the place we always went for a quick lunch. Their empanadas were my favorite, very fresh!
We hopped off the bus tour for some late lunch and discovered this gem hiding in plain sight. South America is not a bastion of great pizza but Pizzeria Genova breaks that stereotype with some of the best pizza south of the US. The first...bite confirms their recognition as one of the top five pizzerias in Argentina. Look no further for true, authentic Italian cuisine. You will think you're sitting at a cafe in Italy. This is a must stop on any trip to Buenos Aires...yes, it's that good.
