Tropical On 17th - Calgary

I had an amazing experience at this restaurant when I celebrated my birthday here. They decorated our table, which was a nice added touch. The atmosphere is fantastic, very lively and enjoyable. The service was outstanding - our waitress made sure we had everything we needed and checked on us frequently. The prices were very reasonable compared to other places, and the portion sizes were generous. I will definitely be returning when I am back in Calgary!

We decided to bring some of our city cousins for a quick taste of the food, drinks, and atmosphere at this restaurant. Despite it being super busy, they were able to accommodate us with a last-minute reservation and gave us an hour. The food was great, the drinks were delicious, and Andrea was the friendliest server! The overall experience was exactly what I wanted to show my visitors from British Columbia, and we were all completely satisfied. The live music was also amazing. Overall, I would give it a 10/10 for the great vibes. Can't wait to go back again soon!

I don't think this "club" understands what bottle service is supposed to be about! I have never been so disappointed with bottle service as I was this past weekend. The Grey Goose bottles were constantly empty, the mixes and soda water were not replenished, and I can't believe a tropical-themed club didn't have any fruit garnishes! I'm not sure if they were short-staffed or what, but the bottle service girls were behind the bar the whole night instead of serving us at our table like they should. I would have received better service at the bar. I am truly disappointed and will not be returning to this establishment, nor will I recommend it to anyone in the future.

For the first time I went to tropical on 17th after I heard amazing dinge! the judges not disappointed! my server andrea was incredible! she was always quick to see and see how the dinge go, ask if and when we needed something, and was fast to return with food and drinks! even if my To-go order was missing the guacamole and chips, an incredible night! Before I went after a few hours, my friends and I could experience the beautiful livesing they had. a true and unforgettable experience, and I can't wait to go back!

I really wanted to like this place because it seemed like a fun establishment to try out. Unfortunately it just didn't meet our expectations. The ONLY reason I'm not giving one star is because the hostess was incredibly nice and understanding. We got situated beside a birthday party of about 15+ people, as well as having a table by some speakers. It seemed like the birthday party area was private, yet they sat us down in the same area upstairs. There were other tables available upstairs as well, yet they stayed empty so I don't know why we were the only ones to have been placed there. We felt like we were intruding and did not feel safe because the people from the birthday party were constantly wandering away from their table and not wearing masks when doing so. The music was so loud for us that we couldn't hear the person beside us speak. Mask mandates were not being enforced (not one single employee was wearing their mask properly either) despite having signs all over the establishment. When asked to move away from the private birthday party, we were at first told that it would be possible by the hostess, but then our server came and said no. She said it was not her problem and that we just had to deal with it On top of that, our basic cocktails were either watered down or there was no alcohol in them. We left not long after we arrived due to the attitude our waitress had, as well as the unfortunate and uncomfortable placement of our table.
